MMFF A True Pinoy Film Festival

The Metro Manila Film Festival is finally over, although it's clouded with controversies. The MMFF is running smoothly until the Best Picture was announced. Shake, Rattle and Roll 8 was named as Third Best Picture, Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo only came in second, and Enteng Kabisote 3: The Legend Goes On and On and On captured the Best Picture. Host Edu Manzano explained after the Best Picture winners were announced that 40 percent of the criteria for judging comprised of the movie's box-office returns. As of press time, the three Best Picture winners are leading the pack. Many film makers who joined the festival weren't happy with the new criteria, they said if it's about money and not for the art itself they shouldn't have join the festival at all. Pinoy Festivals are always filled with controversies, that's why it's easy to distinguish which one is a true Pinoy creation.
